The exact phrase ‘Tree of Life’ appeared altogether ten times in the Holy Christian Scriptures. Of these ten times six were used in the exact contextual and conceptual context as in Genesis 3 verse 2. Of these six times three were in the Genesis chapter (chapter 2 and 3) and three others were in the book of Revelation. In four other times when the exact phrase ‘Tree of Life’ were used were in the book of Proverbs. All these four instances were in the context of a similitude.

All three accounts in the Genesis chapters, the phrase referred to a physical tree planted in the Garden of Eden and was specifically identified and highlighted as possessing special properties of conferring permanent (as opposed to temporary) life (Genesis 3:22 last part). Please read  The Keys To Unlocking The Mystery Part 4  for the discussion on GOD naming or calling things as an identification of their attributes or functions.

Then the LORD God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— therefore the LORD God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken. So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.
Genesis 3:22 - 24

The specific reason given by GOD for driving out Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden was to deny them from having access to and eating from the Tree of Life. A flaming sword was placed around the Garden of Eden so that no man would be able to enter the Garden. This removal of the access to eat of the Tree of Life was not just a result of their rebellious disobedience which in itself was a grave sin, but they were guilty of having robbed GOD, taking what was explicitly forbidden (Malachi 3:8 - 10), what was forbidden on penalty of sure death (the cessation of life).

And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”
Genesis 2:16 – 17

What was a Tree Of Life Doing in the Garden of Eden?

One of the biggest lies of pagan religions is the lie of the immortal soul. The foundation of this lie was laid in the very Garden of Eden when Satan used a serpent to convince Eve (and Adam through Eve) that they will never ever die.

And the serpent saith unto the woman, `Dying, ye do not die,
Genesis 3:4 (YLT)

Because of their foundation doctrines built from the lies of the Christmas religion, in all of the translation of the Christian Bible, the translators had interpreted this verse based on their erroneous system of belief. They have deceitfully ignored the context of this verse which is Genesis 2:17. The closest translation which was Young's Literal Translation (or transliteration) also did not correctly translate this verse (or Genesis 2:17). This is because generally different languages used different perspective in their sentence and grammar structures and it is seldom an accurate rendition of the intent when translated word for word.

The real literal translation of Genesis 2:17 would read: In dying you will die. From this the corresponding verse Genesis 3:4 which was Satan (so named because he was and is the Adversary or Enemy of GODdirectly countering GOD's direct instruction implying that GOD lied with: ‘in dying you will not die’, meaning you will never die. Even if we were to just take the translation of the New King James Version (which many translations also rendered in like manner) of Genesis 2:17 as:

‘..... you shall surely die

The corresponding counter argument or statement of the Serpent as a proxy for Satan would be:

‘..... you surely will not die

rather than the deceitfully twisted translation by all the Bible translators:

‘..... you will not surely die

If you have been discerning you would have noticed the deceitfulness of the translators purposefully translating Genesis 2:17 with the less convicting ‘shall’ as in ‘..... you shall surely die’ while in Genesis 3:4 was rendered with the more forceful ‘will’ as ‘..... you will not surely die’, and also placing the word ‘surely’ between ‘not’ and ‘die’ rather than before ‘not die’ after ‘will’ which would have made that verse clearer instead of causing it become vague aside from being poor grammar. You would have notice too that placing the word ‘surely’ between ‘will not’ and ‘die’ the translators are basically (deceitfully) iterating that GOD lied by focusing on the adverb ‘surely’ to mock GOD, adding to the verse (‘dying you will not die’) an intent that was not reflected in the original text.

So accurately rendered Genesis 2:17 would read:

but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you surely will die

While Genesis 3:4 and also verse 5 would read (as more accurate rendered in NASB):

Then the serpent said to the woman, “You surely will not die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

Verse 5 showing Satan deceitfully changing (thus distracting from) the focus (and thus the issue) from that of death and dying to that of covetousness, greed and lusting, directly (explicitly) charging that GOD lied to them because HE had a hidden, deceitful and selfish agenda to deny desirable knowledge to Adam and Eve.

And on both these lies of an immortal soul and a deceitful self glorifying GOD, all pagan religions and system of beliefs (of old) were and (newly invented) are founded. If you were to be honest in thoroughly examining all their foundation doctrines you would very clearly find all these religions are implicitly advancing these two blasphemies even as they pretend to shout all kinds of praises and glory to GOD.

Temporary Versus Permanent?

Surely the most quoted Christian Scripture would be the book of John Chapter 3 verse 16,
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Some of the concepts covered in this one verse are as below:
1. GOD.
2. GODs great love.
3. The world.
4. GODs giving as in GOD gave.
5. Only begotten.
6. SON.
7. The term whoever.
8. Believing in the SON.
9. Perish.
10. Have.
11 Everlasting.
12. Life.

For God(1) so loved(2) the world(3) that He gave(4) His only begotten(5) Son(6), that whoever(7) believes in Him(8) should not perish(9) but have(10) everlasting(11) life(12).

We shall not discuss all the concepts covered in this one verse but just a few key ones to illustrate that words are the encapsulation of concepts that they are used to convey in communications.

For a start let us look at the concepts encapsulated in the words perisheverlasting and life. In the simplest of context we would know as mortal men and women that we die. There is an end to our life. So whenever we encounter the word 'perish' as it relate to us, we can get the context of a ceasing of life, or of losing or loss of life.

Now contrast the phrase 'should not perish' against 'but have everlasting life.' From that context we would understand that 'perish' here refers to a cessation of life and not a forever life in the torment of hell as has been the twisted teachings of the Christmas religion. Read the book of John chapter 10 verse 28 where this concept is reinforced by a statement from JESUS.

In the New Testament Scriptures, the word 'perish' had been used in several contexts. These are: the losing or lost of something, the destruction or destroying of something, or the coming/bringing/putting to an end of something. So the primary or base concept is that of 'a cessation' or 'an ending' of possession.

'Everlasting' should need no explanation as the concept is that of forever ongoing, having no ending. Therefore, because of our mortality in that every human who had ever lived before us had died, and we in our time expect the same, we should be able to understand that it would mean that there will be no end or unending.

In 2 Corinthians chapter 4 verse 18 the same word everlasting is here translated as 'eternal.' This verse contrasts it against the word 'temporary.' So we should get the idea of a permanent condition or state as oppose to a temporary condition or state. So the primary or base concept expressed in the word translated as either 'everlasting' or 'eternal' is that of a continual state, an unceasing or unending state. That is, the concept of permanence.

Yes there are a few instances where this word is left out or erroneously translated because the translators just have no idea how to fit the word into the context or subject that it qualified or described.

while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:18

I hope you can see the context from the contrast of these words and get the whole picture or over riding precept of comparing life that is temporary against that which is permanent. The word translated as 'life' in the Gospel and New Testament accounts comes mostly from two main Greek words. One of these was used almost exclusively to reference a life that is permanent and was associated with the word eternal and everlasting.

The other word translated as 'life' on the other hand was used almost exclusively to reference one that pertains to the temporary, often also translated in the King James Version of the Bible as soul or breath. The concept here of this word is of a life sustained by this 'breath' or 'drawing of air into the body'.

But the Mystery Babylonian religion that originated from Nimrod's wife had got almost all of religious mankind and even many among those who are professed atheist, deceived into a 'doctrine of the immortal human soul'. In the context of the discussion here on the words 'perish', 'everlasting' and 'life', this could be termed a doctrine of the 'indestructible human soul'.

The almost universal view of religious man for thousands of years prior to the current age of scientific 'enlightenment' has being that the 'immortal' souls of wicked sinners who have died going to a purgatory of eternal punishment, whether these be of physical torture or the forever torment of a burning hell fire. As for those who have lived a pure sinless life, they would on their death ascend to the heaven to live forever where the gods are, some teachings also have that these becoming deities themselves elevating themselves solely by their perfect virtuous lives or selfless sacrifices. Further there had also been this belief of another category of afterlife for those among the less extreme who will continue their lives in another world or realm of the 'after life' neither in purgatory nor as deities.

The Scripture of Truth does not support any such doctrines which are the fabrication of putrid minds that do not know the true CREATOR GOD. The Scriptures plainly state that up to this point in time only GOD has immortality (1 Timothy 6:16) or is indestructible (cannot be harmed or destroyed).  More on this in the chapter, 'GOD IS' of Bible 101 - The Holy Bible Expounded.

All the Scriptures of the New Testament records consistently portrayed two primary concepts in the words translated as life in the Christian Bible; one is temporary and the other permanent. The temporary one ending at death which is the termination, cessation or ending of life and not a continuous life in a hell of eternal torment as are the doctrines that had originated from the Babylonian religions which is sourced to the first family, Adam and Eve, believing or trusting a strange talking serpent in the Garden of Eden rather than the GOD who created them.

Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die....
Genesis 3:4

More accurately translated it would say, 'You surely won't die' or 'You definitely won't die' or 'You will surely never die'.

In the doctrine of the Babylonian religions it would read, 'You have an immortal soul'. And that is what near to all the religions of the world teach because their source is the very religion that Nimrod started when he made himself a king to rule over the people leading them to rebel against their CREATOR GOD and KING (Malachi 1:14; 1 Samuel 12:12, 8:6  – 7). All these religions are built on Satan's lie.

Up until today mankind had not believed what GOD said when HE commanded Adam not to eat from that Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil,
but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die '

They had continued on believing the lie of that serpent until this very day.
